Piping System Principles is a two-part self-paced online course that covers a broad range of topics including piping terminology, mathematics and the underlying principles that determine the performance of individual piping system elements and the system as a whole.
With an emphasis on understanding the relationship between components in a piping system and how to effectively troubleshoot system inefficiencies, participants are able to take knowledge from this course and apply it directly back to the job.
Piping System Principles is a course anyone in the piping system industry can use.
While we do recommend taking both parts of this course, part 1 does not require you to take part 2 to gain a comprehensive understanding of piping systems. If, after taking part 1, you want more information about troubleshooting piping systems, using calculations to validate models and more, follow up with part 2.
Piping System Principles Part 1 is worth 12 PDH.

- Following energy through the system to see where losses and inefficiencies can occur
- Learning key terminology associated with piping systems
- Examining the essential elements of piping systems including in-depth overviews of pipes, pumps, control valves and tanks
- Viewing a piping system as a whole from a bird’s eye view

This course provides operations and maintenance supervisors, design and process engineers, and operators and maintenance personnel with a better understanding of how a complete piping system operates. It also provides real-world knowledge for engineers and is a great refresher course for senior engineers.
